Growth mindset as a large lever

Does growth mindset actually work? Barely, and nothing like as much as you were told.

Teaching students that intelligence is malleable substantially improves achievement.

What actually happened

Real but small. Sisk et al. (2018) meta-analysis: d ≈ 0.08 overall. Yeager et al. (2019), a US national study, found gains concentrated in lower-achieving students and modest in size.
